During the first step, you can expect some goo in your mouth. We will use a guard with a substance inside that will mould and take on the form of your mouth. These are called impressions, and the material will harden to form a mould.
From the impressions we have taken of your mouth, we will then form a model from which to work. This model will be placed on an articulator simulating a jaw, where we will put the teeth in place with wax. Our technicians then shape the gums.
The dentures then go into a flask where more wax maintains the shape. The mould is then placed in boiling water to melt away the wax, after which acrylic is injected into the mould to replace the wax. We then break the plaster off, place the dentures in an ultrasonic bath, whereafter we polish and trim.
If you play a contact sport, you will undoubtedly have to bear the unfortunate burden of wearing an uncomfortable mouthguard. To make it a bit more bearable and wearable, we can custom make a mouthguard for you that will fit better and distribute any force equally across your mouth to lessen any impact.
Whether you need a hard or a soft reline, we can help you out. Your gums will change over time because there are teeth inside to keep the structure; you need to have your dentures relined every two years for a comfortable fit.
The creation and repairs of dentures are all done on-site, by or technicians, which means that you won’t have to wait as long for your dentures. We can do repairs sometimes on the same day and have them back to you to enjoy your supper.
